Spring has Sprung

After days and days of rainy Vancouver weather, I finally got to see a glimpse of the sun today. It definitely brightened up my day -- especially after sitting in the library for almost five hours trying to finish a literature review.

So in celebration of spring, I have put together some of my favourite clothing items for the season.

1. Romper - It's easy, it's breezy, and it's a great alternative to a dress.
2. Canvas Sneakers - They go with absolutely everything - leggings, jeans, dresses, and shorts.
3. Floral + Crop - Florals are always great for spring. I'm definitely excited to be switching it up this year and experimenting with the cropped sillouette. Hey, it's two in one + best of both worlds!
4. Feathers - I've been on the hunt for some feathered accessories for awhile. Mainly necklaces, earrings, and headbands. They just give off a really cool, earthy vibe.
5. High waisted shorts - I know the high waist is not favored by everyone, but trust me, they can make your legs look leaner and miles longer.
6. Cardigan - This one is actually great all-year-round, but now I can finally wear it as an outer layer. *cheers*
7. Silk Blouse - Another very versatile and easy piece. The peach tone is refreshing after wearing just black, grey, and blue for the last few months.

It's always exciting when the warm weather comes because it means that I can finally shed all those winter layers. Hmm.. maybe it's time to go shopping again!

The Land of Cool Furniture

I finished my last midterm today! Let the celebrations begin!

Well actually, not so soon. There are still 2 presentations, one literature review, and assignments due either this week or the next. HOWEVER, the rest of this week should be a breeze. Hooray for that! Still, Friday seems so close but yet so far.

So two days ago, I decided to drop by Ikea on the way home to get some frozen yogourt since they're on sale for 50 cents until the end of the month. The line up was huge --no surprise. But i was disappointed to discover that they didn't pack as much on the cone as they normally do. What's the point of the sale if you're getting half of the amount for half the price?

I'm sure I waited for a good 15 minutes in line. The little girl in front of me was so cute. She kept trying to talk to this little boy who was also in line with his mom but he just kept saying "okay..." and sort of ignoring her everytime she said something. lol. Poor lonely little girl.

Here's a picture my shrunken cone! Sorry the picture is blurry. It's actually very hard to take photos without looking like a total weirdo. This photo-blogging thing is more difficult than I originally thought. The bedroom display on the bottom right is so adorable! I actually almost bought those exact lights --they are only $9.99. Yay or Nay? A few other styles of the same lights are shown above it. The star shaped design would definitely go better with my current room colour scheme. Also, check out the Ikea kitchen, it's definitely one of my favourite showrooms.

So its 2:50am and I should really head to bed. Long day tmr. Lots of reading, writing, studying, and stressing out to do. No idea how I'm going to get through next week. I hate how I always procrasinate and put myself in these situations... when will I ever learn?

So tonight was our friend Angela's birthday dinner! We had dinner at Cat's Socialhouse at Granville Island. Jenny and I shared a crispy chicken burger and a fettucine carbonara. Both dishes were delicious! Our server forgot to take our side down of yam fries and when I told her, she was nice enough to bring us an extra side dish of yam fries and not charge us. Very sweet of her! After dinner we headed over to Angela's for some taboo and pictionary. All in all, a fun night!

This week in pictures :) because they are worth a thousand words.

I can't believe that I'm already 11 weeks into my program at BCIT! Time sure flies. I remember years ago when my grade 4 teacher told me that time goes by a lot faster after you graduate from elementary school. At that time, I really didn't understand how that could be possible. And don't get me wrong, I still don't! But I have to say that I fully believe in what she said. Blows my mind to think that my first day of high school was more than 10 years ago...!

It's been awhile since I've blogged. It's somewhat nostaligic.. and therapeutic.

Alright, let the fun begin.
