Sunshine and Shopping

I definitely tried to make the best of the weather earlier this week. Too bad I had to work for most of the week.. and when I finally had a day off, it rained :( Talk about bad luck..

I did make the best of Tuesday when me and mommy dearest went downtown for some shopping.

L: My hipster mommy trying on some accessories for fun at Urban Outfitters.
R: Casually strolling on Robson Steet.

We stopped by Babylon Cafe for some chicken wraps. They were soo good! I forgot to take a picture before we devoured them :(

Yesterday, me and J went to check out the new Anthropologie store that opened on Graville Street! The store reminded me a lot of Urban Outfitters but with a dantier, girlier feel.

Other than clothes, the store also had a big selection of housewares.

They also carried lots of off-beat items, like these funky, colourful knobs. Wouldn't they look so cute added onto a dresser or on some cabinets?

J finding something she liked.

Tomorrow's going to be a fun day! I'll be doing some shopping in the states. My friends and I have already planned out what places we want to go to and where we want to eat. I love road trips. Can't wait!

Sick of Being Sick

So I lost my voice a few days ago. It was not fun.. considering I am one of those people who always have lots to say. Haha. I guess it was a good change.

I finally got a chance to watch Wednesday's ANTM finale today! I missed it last night because I was working the late shift. It was probably the tightest final 2 ever because both girls had awesome porfolios. Ultimately, the winner was Brittani.

Here are some of my favourite pictures of her from the show:

Brittani's strong point is definitely her expressive eyes. They show so much emotion and feeling.

The runner-up was Molly, she was the favourite to win going into the finale:

Click to enlarge! Molly's 2nd row 1st picture is ahhmazing.

Remember a few posts back, I mentioned possibly going into a shopping ban? Well, lets just say it never happened. I just would not commit to it! I actually purposely avoided going into it because I knew very well, that once exams were over, I'd need to go shopping to reward myself for all the hard work :) So, lets just say that the ban has been postponed. No idea when I will officially commit to it. But when I do, I'll definitely mention it here.

In a few days, I'll be heading to the states with my girlfriends to do some damage! I actually went twice in the last few months, but managed to only make one purchase for the two trips. I just couldn't find anything that I liked at a reasonable price. When I go shopping in the states, I always look for deals because there is not point in buying something that you can find in Canada for the exact same price. My friends and I always visit the same old places: the Seattle Premium Outlets, Nordstrom Rack, and Ross. I guess I just didn't have much luck on my recent trips. Hopefully this time will be a little different.. because I already have a few things in mind that I'd like to get. On the top of my wishlist are a pair of Minnetonka moccasins! I've been wanting them for awhile now but just couldn't find a pair in my size. Better luck in the states hopefully?

And if this entry isn't random enough...

Long time no see

Don't you love it when you find new ways to wear your old clothes?

Well make note of some of these back-again trends for the Spring and Summer:

L: Denim jacket - You can even do denim-on-denim! As long as the pieces are not too similar in colour.

R: Lady-like small bag - Yup, it's time to downsize. Take out all the junk that you don't need. Wallet, phone, keys, lipgloss, and you should be out the door! Don't worry, your back will thank you :)

L: Flares - Yes they are back... but I still love my skinnies.

R: Maxi skirt
- This was popular for a short period of time back in 2001? I remember owning a denim maxi skirt back in grade 9 or 10. Don't ask me why.. lol. This time around, look for one in a lighter, flowier fabric.

A few of these items have been lost in the back of our closets for awhile now. Time to breathe life back into them once again :)

Freeeeedom

The week of exams is finally over and done with! what a relief! 7 in 5 days was just seriously too intense.

Feels awesome to be done! It'd be more awesome if I wasn't too sick to enjoy it. I woke up this morning feeling like I got punched in the throat. Not the best feeling. My immune system was working overtime and it finally gave in :( I'm going to need a good week to rest up and recover from the exams+sickenss...

On a happy note, I bought 2 sets of scrubs for the upcoming hospital clinical term! They're not the most flattering, but they'll do. I'll definitely need to hem the bottoms though.

Right after our last exam on Friday, me and my friends took no time to start celebrating our long-awaited freedom. First off was lunch at Red Robbins. I haven't been there for so long! I was debating whether to get the chili burger or the bbq chicken burger. I ended up getting the bbq chicken. It wasn't so great. I guess I just wasn't a fan of the crispy onion bits in the burger. Next off, shopping! First metrotown, then we headed downtown.

So it was also A's birthday dinner at Ichiro in Steveston on Friday. It was great seeing everyone again! We also went for some cosmic bowling after dinner. I definitely need to practice on my bowling skills...

the end of the beginning

The very awesome Set A

Today marks the last day of MLSC level 1 classes! I can't believe how quickly the last four months flew by. We've all learned so much in the last few months and we all deserve to be proud of what we've accomplished! It's pretty amazing how we all got to know each other so well and in such a short period of time. I don't think school would've been as enjoyable if it weren't for the people that were with me every step of the way. Thanks for all the laughs; I enjoyed every TGIF event, bus ride to and from school, shopping trip, and all our lunch hour laughs! Good times.

All that's left now are finals and clinicals. And then finally we'll get our very anticipated summer vacation!

My free Clearly Contacts glasses finally arrived in the mail today! They're super nerdy-looking and exactly what I was looking for! They are the Katayama K4126 in Black -- still available on the website!

I forgot to mention this weird attraction I saw downtown on Saturday. Yes, it was a giant box of cereal outside of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Turned out that it was part of car advertizement scheme. Honestly, I don't think anyone was looking at the car at all. lol.

I was obviously having way too much fun. What can I say.. I love cereal!
